The standing thing is fun to watch, but it has really complicated his already complicated sleep habits. This kid throws a tantrum before every nap - and now if he doesn't want to sleep, he just stands at the crib rail and screams. But on the other hand, we get to see this face when we wake up in the morning:
After he wakes up, it's off to the living room, where he immediately climbs up on the coffee table, jostles around Daddy's precious projector and reaches for any dangerous and potentially toxic thing we may have left out overnight:
Later in the day, Grant does some more standing. By this time, we've replaced the hazardous objects with his toys, which makes standing by the sofa not nearly as fun:
So we add in a little craziness before bedtime. Here's Grant acting silly and sporting the newspaper hat Grandma made him. Later, he ate the hat.
I'll try to post video of the crawling. In the meantime, have you seen the movie "My Left Foot?" It's kind of like that, but less coordinated.

Hey - I offered to have my kids come over and show you what needed babyproofing! Now you have the first two feet off the ground covered. Let me know if you want to get a jump on the next couple.
Where do I get a newspaper hat?
